Where School Work Meets Blogging
I meant to post this yesterday, but we got a bit busy. Sorry! Well onto the post...
"Girls, you should each make a school blog," Mum told us. "A blog to put all those bits and bobs on that you have been learning. Photos, recipes, YouTube video links, book reviews, all that stuff."
Riley and I thought it was a great idea. We got together all our bravery and clicked the 'New Blog' button.
I called my blog 'Whispers of a Different Girl' and Riley called hers 'A Princess in the Making'. I am quite proud of the names. I thought them both up.
Next bit was Riley's domain, because she is better at that sort of thing. She went around some of our favourite blog background sites and free image sites until she had all the things she needed to design us two totally awesome blogs!
Then we wrote our first posts. Our blogs were done.
Please visit them! If you are interested in the kind of things we write there, please feel free to follow.
Also we have a bit of other news. We have just joined DIY.org. If you are on there, please follow us. My username is Ann Mega and Riley is called Ultra There.
We don't have much up as of yet, but more is coming. Watch out for it!

Plants Vs. Zombies
Yesterday Dad came home with a present for us. It was a computer game called Plants Vs. Zombies.
Now we are not big computer game fans. No way! I haven't played any in ages, but we do sometimes like to curl up with our computers and have a bit of fun.
My first thought was Zombies??? We don't usually like zombies. We find them horrid and revolting. We asked Dad about it.
"I hear it isn't that bad," Dad told us. "Just try it."
We installed it and then started playing. To our surprise Dad was right. It wasn't bad, it was fun! We enjoyed ourselves a lot. They aren't normal zombies.
In the game you have to set up a defence in front of your house using plants, to keep zombies out so they can't eat your brains. Brains don't really come into it that much, unless a zombie gets to your house and then it says they ate your brains and you try again.
I really would suggested this game for you to play. You wouldn't want really young kids playing it because of the zombies, and I know different families have different ideas at what age children should be allowed to play these things, but me and Olivia think that nine and up is a good age limit.
Have you played this game? What did you think of playing it? Are you like us and don't like zombies?

Super Treats for Everyone
How hard is it to make a yummy treat? Not very. We have heaps of favourite, simple treats that we would love to share with you.
Riley and I adore greek style yogurt. We love it's tang. It is so much better than the sweet stuff you can get. At least we think so. It has a nice real taste to it, unspoiled!
Here are some things you can do with it or any other plain yogurts:
Dollop some into a small bowl, drizzle honey all over it and tip plenty of rolled oats on top of that. Don't skimp on the oats! Mix everything together, add some more for whatever you think you don't have enough of and then eat. Warning, more honey is better than less. Make sure you can taste it!
Chop up some fresh strawberries, sprinkle with sugar and put them in a bowl of yogurt. I like more rather than less strawberries, but Riley doesn't like the juice getting all through her yogurt. You can do this with any berry or you could buy some frozen mixed berries.
What is better than rice pudding? Well we all love the really creamy rich taste. For days we are in a hurry we have quick recipe.
Here is what we do:
Cook enough rice for however many people are eating, put it in a saucepan and tip milk in so your spoon can go around the pan, but not so much that it is all milk. Just a bit.
When it is bubbling grab some sweetened condensed milk or just cream if you don't have any. Tip in a good bit and then mix up. Put a tiny drop of vanilla essence as an extra if you like.
There are a few good toppings for this. One is cut up chocolate. We also like honey and cut up almonds. You can play around with what you want.
We love fruit. The best way to have it is for dessert. This is the second easiest dessert on this post.
If you are using canned fruit like peaches (which we adore having) drain them and tip them into your bowls. If you are using fresh fruit like strawberries or mangos cut them up and put them into the bowls. If using canned fruit, tip a little juice into the bowls for an extra yummy taste.
Get a bottle of cream and put a good bit in each bowl and eat. Nothing easier. We all know this recipe!
Last of all is the easiest. All you need is a bar of chocolate of your pick and some hungry people. Break up your bar of chocolate and pass it around, yum!
I hope you liked these super easy recipes and that they are easy enough to follow. Thanks for reading and please try them out!
I would have given you some exact measurements for ingredients in the rice pudding, but there aren't any. It is just what you want to have.
Do you know any great recipes I would like? Where can I find them?

We Are On These Sites...Is That Bad?
Today Olivia and I wanted to tell you about some favourite sites of ours. I know most people do posts like these, but I would like to know some of your favourites and to tell you some of our favourites.
- Goodreads. This is a books site. You can get books recommendations, list out books you have read, take quizzes, find quotes from most authors and so much more. You can find us as by typing our personal email addresses in. We would be delighted to be friends with you. My email us thunderbird1.riley@gmail.com and Olivia's is thunderbird2.olivia@gmail.com
- NaNoWriMo YWP. We have done this twice. But our accounts are new. We made them just this year. We used Mum's email address before and shared the account but now we wanted our own accounts. NaNoWriMo is where every November you write a fifty thousand word novel, pretty hard I know! The YWP or Young Writers Program is the same except you get to chose your own word count goal. On both sites there are forums to go on and meet other people. If you want to buddy us are usernames are bookwormatitsbest and abstractprincess!
- Gamestar Mechanic. This is a game making site where you make and play games. There are also quests to do and challenges to win. We haven't published a games yet, we are too scared. But we are going to. We have played many of other people's games. Our usernames are: Phantasmorania and Petrova!
- WeHeartIt. A great photo site. You see a photo you like and you heart it. Nothing easier. This is a great place to get some of your photos for novel covers, character ideas and blog posts, plus other things. That is where we got the pictures for out blog header.
- Pinterest. Olivia is on Pinterest more than me, but I do go on it sometimes. It is were you see a picture and pin it to these boards you have. It is a bit hard to explain, but we both think that it is worth mentioning.

Families are so Funny!
Hi guys! It is Olivia. Yesterday Riley introduced us, so today I am going to introduce our super amazing family, can't wait!
We have quite a big family. Riley and I are bam in the middle, it is a great place to be not having the responsibilities of being oldest but still having little siblings to goof around with and teach things to.
As you can guess we have a mum and dad. Ours are really cool. My mum makes great homemade clothes and is always cooking muffins and cookies. Dad is a mechanic and spends most of the week out, but he is home on Sundays! He always takes us somewhere special or at least spends the day playing board games (which we all love) or cricket. As you can tell, we really love them!
Next is my sister Ella. She is nineteen and adores chocolate chip muffins. She is a big reader and also likes knitting. She is working in a super market at the moment. She wants to be a music teacher. She is finishing all her piano exams first though.
Adrian is sixteen. He is interested in writing. He is writing a novel at the moment called On the Road to Power. It is about a boy who finds out he is a superhuman prince and how he saves his kingdom single handily with only one friend to help him.
Jane love drawing. She is fourteen. She likes going shopping with friends and helping Mum out by cooking the dinner. She always wears long earrings and has a huge collection of boots.
Then comes me and Riley. We are twelve. Our birthday is May the 15th, so it is coming around again! We both like reading and writing. We also like a bit of craft. We have long blond hair and I promise you it isn't dyed. We both have bad eyesight so we wear contacts or glasses most of the time.
Ten year old Emma loves doodling and Jane often helps her out. She also likes editing her clothes by sewing hearts, flowers and smilie-faces all over them. She likes using nail polish, especially pink coloured ones, and she knows some really cute things to do with your hair.
Grace is eight. She like playing dress ups, Lego Friends and Polly Pockets. Her room is a mess. She always invites us to play with her. She likes to lick out batter bowls and have Dad read bedtime stories to her.
Last is Lucy. She is only five. She goes everywhere with Mum. She likes High Five and the Wiggles. She will be starting school work this year and she is so excited. She is so adorable. She wants to learn everything all at once!
That's our family. I hope you enjoyed hearing about everyone. Thanks!
Also Riley forgot to say in her post that we have a favourite food we share and one we don't. We both like chocolate but I like cold sausages and Riley likes buttery mashed potato.
Questions Answered!
Hi! I am Riley. You may have noticed that I am a twin, well yes I am. I am the older of the two X twins, only by a few minutes though.
Sometimes people ask us if we get spoiled because of being twins. Well not really. We are all treated the same. Our mum tries her best not to take one out more than the other or give one heaps of presents and another none. None of us have any trouble with how are house is run.
People also ask if we don't really have friends or go off with our family because we are too busy with each other. Again, no! We have plenty of friends who we love spending time with and our siblings make sure we don't ignore them. I can imagine if I ignored any of them for a day they would probably pull me out of my room and make me play dress ups or board games. So yes, we are not unsociable.
Olivia and I may be identical twins, but there are the differences in us. You can normally tell us apart by our clothes preference. I like to wear short skirts and t-shirts, but Olivia likes jeans and shorts. That answers another question, we do not wear the same clothes! I have no idea why mums would do that to their kids.
We do like the same movies and books. We are both fantasy fans and love Percy Jackson and Artemis Fowl. I guess you could say we are both bookworms. For movies our favourites are Disney, Period Dramas and Lord of the Rings/Hobbit.
Do we get teased at school? Well no because we don't go to school! We are another of those many homeschooling families. Would we swap families to go to school? No way! We would hate going to school and we love our family too much to leave it. No offence to anyone who goes to school. I just like staying home with Mum!
A friend once wanted to know, do we have different drawing styles or are we the same? I will just tell you know we are the same, but we are both hopeless. If you want art, go to my big sister, Jane!
Do you have anyone special in your family?
If you have anymore questions you would like answered, put them in a comment!
